Ramco Ramasubrahmaneya Rajha passes away

The industrial magnate is said to have been ailing from a health disorder for a while and passed away in Rajapalayam. 

Under the leadership of the late chairman, the Ramco Group has turned into a $1 Billion industrial conglomerate with interests spanning cotton and synthetic yarn, cement, building products, software solutions, wind-energy, bio-technology and more. The Group has become one of the most reputed business houses in India and has achieved international recognition for its quality products and services. Ramco Cement and Spinning Mills are the main business sectors of the group. 

Offering condolences on the passing of one of Tamil Nadu’s most respected industrialists, Chief Minister E Palaniswami, said Rajha was instrumental in putting the state on the industrial map of the country. Hailing the visionary as a generous and noble soul, the CM lauded his accomplishments in the economic spectrum. 

His contributions to the state ranged from creating employment for thousands of people to his philanthropy which impacted the lives of many. Referring to his passing as an irreparable loss to the state and the nation, the CM extended his heartfelt condolences to the family.  

Twitter was flooded with messages from both politicians as well as industrialists from across the nation. H Raja, Secretary, BJP, Ex-MLA from Karaikudi Constituency, TN tweeted, “I pay my homage to Sri PR Ramasubrahmaneya Rajha, Chairman of Ramco group. The demise of a great philanthropist is great personal loss to me.” 

Pon Radhakrishnan, Union Minister of State for Road Transport, Highways and Shipping, said, “I am deeply pained by the loss of Shri Rajha, Chairman, Ramco Group today. May his divine soul rest in peace.”
