Tamil Nadu dairy major forays into Mumbai

Apart from the complete range of Arun Icecreams, the outlet will also stock products from HAP including flavoured milk, ghee and dairy whiteners. The outlets will also supply its products to retailers within the vicinity thereby increasing ease of availability of the products to consumers. 

On the launch in Mumbai, RG Chandramogan, CMD, HAP said, “HAP began its initial journey with Arun Icecreams and we are happy to launch this brand in a cosmopolitan market like Mumbai through our Hatsun Daily outlets. Arun Icecreams is now available in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala, Orissa, Maharashtra and Goa.”

Offering an insight into the company’s retail footprint, Prasanna Venkatesh J, Associate Vice President, Marketing & Sales, HAP said, “HAP has around 1,700 Hatsun Daily outlets that exclusively retails our brand of milk and milk products. We have 52 Hatsun daily outlets in Maharashtra alone till date. Our products are available in thousands of general retail and modern trade outlets as well.” 

Talking numbers, Prasanna said, “Last financial year HAP had an overall sales turnover of Rs 4,200 cr. Our current ice cream manufacturing capacity stands at around 1.5 lakh litres a day. We will expand capacity based on market requirements. We have plans to follow up with a foray in Chhattisgarh as well.”
