Bank staff to go on strike on May 30, 31
Employees and officers of United Forum of nine bank unions (UFBU) have called a two-day nationwide bank strike on May 30 and 31.

State Convenor of UFBU Prem Verma said in a press statement on Saturday that bank unions comprising of employees and officers decided to observed the two-day strike on May 30 and 31 opposing the policies of the government and the bank managments.
Verma said that the strike was convened to oppose the Indian Bank Association’s (IBA) delay in resolving the demand charter of UFBU and the government’s casual approach to wage revision for the bank employees.
He said that they are opposing the IBA’s meager offer of 2 per cent hike in the wage bill towards the wage increase and partial mandate given by some of the banks only upto scale-111.
“We demand expeditious and early wage revisions settlement and adequate increase in salary and improvement in other services conditions.” Nine banks unions which are gong on strike are AIBEA, AIBOC, NCBE, AIBOA, BEFI, INBEF, INBOC, NOBW and NOBO.
