Nayan’s absence at Sye Raa... teaser launch upsets makers

Nayanthara has always shied away from promoting her films irrespective of the language it is being made in. Last year, the actress signed up for historical drama Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy that has big stars like Amitabh Bachchan and Chiranjeevi.

We hear that the makers had invited Nayanthara and expected the actress to accept their invitation and attend the teaser launch. However, the actress remained firm in her stance of not attending movie promos.

A source in the know of things told DT Next, “Nayanthara is currently shooting for Darbar across busy schedules. She had given her dates for Darbar a few months ago and is unavoidable. That is one of the main reasons for not attending the event. However, she might attend the promotions that will happen in Hyderabad next week and Chennai later. We do not have a clarity on it yet.”

We will have to wait and see if the actress obliges the producer of the film Ram Charan’s request. Produced under his banner Konidela Production Company, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy is a biopic on the life of Telugu freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy who revolted against the British rulers. The film, which is set in the year 1857 has Chiranjeevi, Nayanthara, Amitabh Bachchan, Tamannaah, Vijay Sethupathi and Jagapati Babu in prominent roles.
