Dhanush’s comments irk Tamil producers

He said, “Getting full remuneration has become a rarity. But Thanu sir, settled my payment prior to the shoot and helped me in a big way.” Thanu also said that actors like Dhanush are helping the industry to survive and he had sacrificed crores of money for his films to get released on time. While their speech garnered good response in the event, a few producers in the industry have condemned the actor’s comments and have asked for an apology.

Industry insiders say that the producers, who had earlier bankrolled Dhanush’s flicks, have decided to call for a meet with the producers council and sort things out. However, there is no confirmation yet regarding the same. Asuran also marks the Tamil debut of Malayalam actress Manju Warrier and the film is all set to get a worldwide release on October 4.
