Producer-distributor Gnanavel Raja on Thursday filed a complaint against Kamal Haasan with the Tamil Film Producers’ Council and said that the actor-filmmaker owed him Rs 10 crore during the financial imbroglio of Uttama Villain and promised him that he would be acting and directing a film within a budget of Rs 40 crore (including the borrowed Rs 10 crore) for Studio Green. However, post the agreement, Kamal Haasan has showed no interest in starting the proposed project, according to Gnanavel. This had prompted Gnanavel to move Tamil cinema’s prestigious body. When contacted the office-bearers of the Council said that they would look into the issue soon. Meanwhile Kamal Haasan is now busy shooting for Shankar’s Indian 2 in Rajahmundry.
He will later shoot for Thalaivan Irukkiran that will be produced by Lyca Productions which has music composed by AR Rahman. At this rate, his film with Gnanavel Raja looks highly improbable.
Gnanavel under his banner Studio Green has Mufti remake that stars STR and Gautham Karthik in lead roles. He will also begin bankrolling Suriya 39 that will be helmed by Siruthai Siva soon.
