Anirudh croons a song titled ‘Superstar’ for Dharan

After Yuvan and RJ Balaji, I wanted Ani to sing this peppy number for me. Titled Superstar, the song talks about current affairs that have made headlines in recent times. Though it has an underlying message in it, it is still a fun number. Earlier we made RJ Balaji sing Soththumootai because the song focuses on Chennai’s food culture and his voice went on to become a sensation. Likewise, I believed that Anirudh’s voice can do justice to the number. He has delivered numerous hit songs in his voice before. Superstar will be another one in his kitty.”

The song will be launched at a university in the city today. “We planned it to launch it at the university’s cultural programme because, the lyrics caters to youngsters and will strike a chord with them immediately,” he added.

Talking about roping in celeb singers for Puppy’s album, he said, “There is another celeb singer who has sung a melody number. We will announce it next week,” Dharan concluded. Produced by Vels Film International, Puppy is directed by Nattu Dev and has Varun and Samyuktha Hegde in lead roles.
