‘Maya is my first teacher when it comes to acting’

Talking about it to DT Next, she said, “I always wanted to score music for feature films. Adiyathe came up when I was jamming with my close friend Abinandhan, and we both thought that the song would make it up for an interesting indie track.” She adds, “It’s always an amazing experience to compose a song and record it. It’s an addictive process and gives me that high. I am also happy that many celebrities in the industry are supporting my debut as a composer.”

Swagatha also reveals us that it’s her sister, Maya Krishnan, a renowned theatre artiste-actor, who helped her to fine tune her acting skills. “I am really surprised that people like me as an actor. I had rejected quite a few ad films and feature films as I was comfortable with it. Now, I have finally decided to take it up. In fact, it’s my sister, Maya Krishnan, who motivated me and helped me to pursue acting. She is my first teacher, as I had even attended her acting workshops.”

On her upcoming project, she says, “I am eager to work as both composer and an actor. I am in talks for a few projects which I will be announcing soon. However, I owe my life to music and my heart lies there.”
