While there were reports that renowned Hollywood make-up artiste, Jason Collins, who was part of films like Blade Runner and Captain Marvel, is working on Kangana’s look, the makers have finally revealed the poster, featuring Kangana as Jayalalithaa.

Bankrolled by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Sahilesh R Singh, the Hindi version of the film has been titled Jaya. Talking to DT Next about the first look, director Vijay said, “Look plays the vital role when it comes to biopic and I strongly believe that it will help the audience to connect with the character.

We had brought some of the top technicians from Hollywood to work in the film and I hope we have done justice to it.” About the film, he says, “The shoot is happening in full swing and major portions of it will be shot in Mysuru and Hyderabad. Kanagana is putting all her efforts for this project and she is trying her best to bring Amma on screen. She is spending nearly 5 hours every day for prosthetic make-up and at the same time learning Bharatanatyam for her role.”

The makers are planning to release the film on June 26, 2020. Arvind Swami will be seen playing the role of the late Chief Minister MG Ramachandran in the film. GV Prakash will compose the music and Vijayendra Prasad has penned the dialogues.
