Actress Manjima Mohan has come up with an initiative that will unearth hidden artistic potential. Talking to DT Next, Manjima says, “This isn’t a spark that ignited in me during the lockdown. I have been mulling over this idea since my college days and was wondering how to take the concept forward. I had discussed with a few friends before. But now, when I wanted to start One In a Million, I discussed with a few friends in the industry and outside it. After several ideations, I brought this idea alive.” The actress has put up a few works of art and craft on her social media pages along with the names of artists. “I have been getting a lot of emails and messages on my Instagram. However, we discuss as a team before putting it up on social media. We couldn’t put up everything we received because of various reasons. Also, we check for authenticity of the paintings as there are a lots of them available on the internet. Hence, we ask the artists to send us a picture of them holding the painting. While some are open to send their pictures, a few aren’t. We are sorting out these issues now. So far we have received over 120 entries,” says the actress. Last week, the theme was movies. “People went all out and sent amazing artwork. We are working on another theme and we are expecting another round of brilliant work,” she adds.

On the work front, Manjima tells us that she has been listening to a lot of scripts. “A few films are in pre-production stage as well. Once the shooting resumes, I will complete FIR as I have only a day’s work left. Apart from that there is Tughlaq Darbar as well,” she concludes.
