Directed by Selvendran, the film talks about the importance of smart villages.

“Karupankaatu Valasu is about a village that is a few hundred years behind other Indian cities and towns.

Neelima Esai plays a girl who comes back to the village after a stint abroad and wishes to change Karupankaatu Valasu to a smart village.

However, she faces opposition from the villagers and is being termed an outcast. Whether the smart village plan is implemented or not is the crux of the story,” Ebenezer divulges that he plays a dancer in the film. “I play the role of a villager who is into arts. I had to practice dance for a few days prior to the shoot to pull off the role,” he added.
