I am originally from Tiruvannamalai and currently live in Vandalur. My family shifted to Chennai nine years ago. I have two siblings — a brother and sister. our father is a construction worker. My father has worked all his life and I couldn’t bear to let him slog for the entire family alone. That is when I decided to work and help my dad run the family. I had scored 80 per cent in Class 10 examinations. Still, I started supplying newspapers at doorsteps every morning. I continued my education, too. After scoring good marks in Class 12 examination, I joined for BCom at a private college. I had been saving up for college for some time. Meanwhile, I also started to work at a bakery in Perungalathur. I work from 4 pm to 11 pm every day, including Sundays. Now I am happy. I am earning enough money to look after my expenses and even help my siblings. I have taken off the burden from my parents and learned to stand on my own. My goal is to work hard to reach heights in life. I want to be able to provide a happy life for my parents and siblings. I hope I can achieve it soon.
