CM inaugurates facilities for Pollution Control Board
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, on November 13, inaugurated facilities for Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board in various districts across the state.

Through video conferencing, the CM inaugurated an office building for Dindigul district environment engineer at the District Collector’s office complex at a cost of Rs.1.25 crore.
She also inaugurated district environment engineer offices for the districts of Virudhunagar, Namakkal, Sivagangai, Vizhupuram, Tanjavur and Pudukottai.
A press release said that the government headed by Ms Jayalalithaa has been taking countless constructive measures towards environmental conservation through the department of Environment and Pollution Control Board.
Recalling the CM’s announcement in the Tamil Nadu assembly, regarding setting up of own buildings for the offices of the district environment engineer of the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board, the statement added that a 6,308 square feet district environment engineer office, built at a cost of Rs. 1.25 crores, was inaugurated by Ms Jayalalithaa in Dindigul.
The CM also inaugurated the office building, worth Rs. 1,61,50,000, for the district environment engineer of Virudhunagar district as well as the 6296 square feet office building for the Namakkal district environment engineer worth Rs.1.68 crore.
For the Sivagangai engineer, she inaugurated an office built on 5800 square feet and for the Vizhupuram engineer, an office built on 5444 square feet, worth 1.21 crore and Rs.1.55 crore.
Ms Jayalalithaa inaugurated the district environment engineer’s office building constructed at Tanjavur SIDCO industrial complex on a geographical area of 6241 square feet built at a cost of 1.49 crores.
She also declared open Pudukottai district environment engineers’ office at Pudukottai SIPCOT complex. In these office buildings, the office room for the district environment, technical rooms, administrative and accounts office rooms and the conference hall are located in the ground floor while the first floor houses laboratories.
The facilities consist of all basic amenities like the conference hall, visitors’ waiting room and separate rooms for the staff. Minister for forests MSM Anandan, Environment Minister Thoppu ND venkatachalam and other officials were present at the launch of these facilities.
