Former director general of police (DGP) Tamil Nadu, R Nataraj has been expelled from AIADMK for his anti-party activities, party’s general secretary and Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa announced in an official statement on Sunday.
In the statement, AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa said, “Following his anti-party activities, violating the party’s principles and ideologies, that brought disrepute and bad name to the party, R Nataraj has been expelled from the party’s primary membership with effect from Sunday. I request, no cadre of our party should keep in touch with him.”
R Nataraj had joined AIADMK on April 1, 2014, soon after his retirement from the post of chairman, Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC).
It may be recalled, on May 2014, Jayalalithaa had also expelled former MP K Malaicamy following a statement by him describing Prime Minister Narendra Modi a “good friend” of the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister.
