Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has issued orders to present Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Constabulary Medals 2016 to 1,500 police personnel in rank of police constables, head constables, an official release said. A total of 120 fire and rescue services personnel and 60 prison service personnel, including Grade-I warders, were also selected for the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Medals. The candidates would receive a monthly medal allowance of Rs 200 each, it said. For the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Medal for Excellence in Technical and Specialised Services, two persons each from police radio branch, dog squad and police photographers were selected. A sum of Rs 3,000 in cash would be presented while those in level of Sub-Inspectors and Inspectors would receive Rs 4,000 from the Chief Minister, it said.
