Chennaiite tops CA final exams
R James John Britto from Chennai has topped the Chartered Accountants final examination with a score of 595 out of 800 marks securing 74.38 per cent

Nagolu Mohan Kumar from Tirupati and Avinash Sancheti from Kolkata bagged the second and third ranks, respectively. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) released the results on Sunday. Speaking to DTNext , Britto said that it was his ambition to become a chartered accountant for a long time and cracked the final exam in thevery first attempt itself.
“My father is also a chartered accountant and was inspired by him. The profession has lot of opportunities. Britto, did his B.Com at Loyola College in the city. He pointed out that he had no immediate plans for the future. “I have no firm plans as of now, but I will look at a suitable employment soon. Economics and Commerce are my favourite subjects so I chose B.Com for higher studies,” he added. The ICAI today announced the results for the final examinations held in November last year and the Common Proficiency Test in December.
Since December 1949, the Chartered Accountancy Examination is held twice a year. Of the 42,469 candidates who took both CA (final) Group 1 and Group 2, only 2,440 (5.75 per cent) cleared the examinations. As many as 9,764 out of the 77,442 candidates cleared Group 1 and 9084 out of 75,774 students passed Group 2.
