Almost all the poll-related processes will go the e-way. Parties can apply online for meetings in various venues and the inspector of the respective area will grant permission online. Postal ballot option will be made available to all police personnel who are on duty on polling day and a swift complaint system will also be put in place.
Chief Electoral Officer Rajesh Lakhoni said that efforts were being made to reduce the transmission time in lodging complaints from polling booths. “A mobile-based complaint cell is also on the cards. People can message to 1950 to reach us through their mobiles. They can lodge complaints about violations or irregularities on the site or via WhatsApp to 9444123456 and a few more numbers, which we will be announced soon. Officials will arrive at the site in the shortest possible time to address the issue,” he said.
