The interactive sessions will feature student and expert participation. Students earn one credit in the programme that will be implemented for second year students for two hours per week for 15 weeks.
Speaking to DT Next on Wednesday, Anna University Vice-Chancellor Prof M Rajaram said that students should take life as a challenge and excel in it, for which every teacher is ready to help them in all possible ways. “As we (Anna University) want to motivate students and have decided to launch a one-credit course from the ensuing academic year. We will place the curriculum in the university’s board of studies and academic council to start the course,” he said.
This course would initially be offered in the University’s four departments—College of Engineering, Guindy, Alagappa College of Technology, Guindy, Madras Institute of Technology, Chromepet and School of Architecture & Planning, Guindy. It would later be extended to other constituent and private engineering colleges coming under the university.
Explaining the course, Anna University Registrar Prof S Ganesan said the university would rope in experts to motive students and bring out their innate talent and nurture their creative skills.
