The Tamil Nadu State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) had conducted the pilot project in 40 government schools in the state last year.

Tamil Nadu state project director for Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Pooja Kulkarni said that this year, the initiative will be extended to over 30,000 government schools in the state. “Schools will do self-evaluation based on seven key domains — infrastructure, sanitation, community mobilisation and learning outcomes. Schools will upload their data onto the dedicated MHRD’s website,” she said.
