Mylai road gets a black topping

Reacting to the report, ‘Mylai road tests riding skills’, that was published in these columns on October 3, Chennai Corporation officials ordered for laying a pucca road on Kesavaperumal West Street in Mylapore.

“We laid the 120-metre-long road in a day, rectified the humps on the road and carried out a lot of repair works. We black-topped the whole section. The newly laid road has made the residents happy,” said a civic official. Earlier, residents of Kesavaperumal West Street were forced to walk and drive on a pothole-ridden street for more than five years.
