Lakshmi Sudha was found dead on the bed inside her house located at Devan Colony Naicker Street under the Kumaran Nagar police station limits. Police was informed about the incident around 6 pm on Wednesday. It is suspected that a known person could have committed the crime.
Lakshmi Sudha, who was living alone in the two-storyed house after being separated from her husband, could have been murdered on October 31, police sources said. Sudha’s son works in Bengaluru. Police said her sister Vijaya, who stays in the vicinity had been trying to reach Sudha over her mobile phone for the last two days and she did not get any reply. On November 2, Vijaya went to Sudha’s house and found a packet of food lying outside. This raised her suspicion that something was amiss. She also found the front door locked from the inside.
Vijaya immeidately informed the policet. A police team from Kumaran Nagar rushed to the spot and broke open the door to find Sudha lying dead on the bed. The body had slightly decomposed, suggesting that the woman could have been murdered about two days back. This is the second elderly woman’s murder reported in T Nagar area in less than two days. Police have already rounded up nearly 1000 suspects as part of a special drive after the murder of Shantha at T Nagar.
