Efforts to check online escort services underway: CBCID
The Crime Branch Central Investigation Department has informed the Madras High Court that all out efforts to check online prostitution is in progress and this year until September as many as 597 persons were arrested under Immoral Traffic Prevention Act.

In a report filed before the first bench comprising CJ Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice R Mahadevan, the CBCID submitted that among the persons arrested seven men and four women were detained under Goondas Act. The report highlighted the arrest of a couple in Thuraipakkam for posting obscene images and videos depicting children in internet. The accused couple – Siddhatha Velu and Prascila – also confessed to their involvement in escort services in Chennai and the same was advertised in various advertisement portals on the internet through ‘locanto.in’, ‘chennaiback page.com’ in hundred different names to lure customers.
Based on certain numbers provided by the petitioner, the Anti Vice Squad of Chennai engaged decoys to contact the user and a case was registered. Reshma (22) of Andhra Pradesh was rescued and Gunasekaran of Valasaravakkam and Sathish of MGR Nagar, were arrested.
