Chopped body of Assam youth found near Mangadu
In a mysterious case, an Assamese youth was found murdered with his body severed in to two parts at Girugambakkam near Mangadu. Police have recovered his decomposing body and have a launched an investigation in connection with the case.

According to the police, some woman workers found the severed body, of a youth at Sakthi Avenue, Balakrishna Nagar, Girugambakkam on Thursday morning and informed the Mangadu police. Police rushed to the spot and retrieved the body. They said the body could be two days old as it showed signs of decomposition.
“His body was cut into two from the abdomen and we suspect that some sharp weapon could have been used to cut the body into two,” a senior police official said. The deceased youth has been identified as Kogan Gogoi (26) from Assam. Gogoi has been working as a welder with a private company at Ambattur and has been staying at Ayapakkam, police said.
As of now police have no leads regarding the motive behind the murder. The Mangadu police have registered a case and have started an investigation. Police officials said enquiries have been made at the place where he stayed and also with his co-workers at the private company in Ambattur. “We are yet to get any clear information. Enquiries are on and we are checking his mobile phone records for more details,” the official added.
