Will prove my strength in House: Panneerselvam

Taking umbrage for Sasikala’s comments that he was backed by the DMK as Opposition leader MK Stalin and he were smiling at each other in the Assembly, Panneerelvam said, “Smiling is the only difference between humans and animals.”
Elaborating further he added that it was not he who approached the DMK between 2006 and 2011 for increased sale of Midas liquor products. “I have no fear as I have nothing to hide.” Speaking to reporters later during the day, Panneerselvam said, “Sasikala has no right to remove me.”
Replying to a question, the CM said he would prove his majority on the Floor of the House. Stating that the people were with him, Panneerselvam said, “I will go from street to street and from town to town seeking justice and support.”
Claiming that it was a blantant lie that the BJP or DMK was behind him, he added that he had always worked to ensure that TN and his party’s name was not besmirched. “This was what Amma had taught me and something which I had followed faithfully,” he said.
A smiling and relaxed Panneerselvam said that he had unloaded all his burden at Jayalalithaa’s memorial. He also assured that an inquiry by a Supreme Court judge would be ordered into the death of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.
MLAs in ‘secret’ spot
From around 9 am on February 8 morning, 130 party MLAs were kept under close watch. After the meeting ended at the party headquarters on Lloyd’s road, a handful of ministers and senior functionaries went to nearby restaurants to eat, while Health Minister Vijayabhaskar ferried cartons of packed food to guarded MLAs on the first floor. At 3pm, three private buses - two AC and one non-AC - arrived at party HQ. By 3.30pm, escorted by a cavalcade of cops, the buses took the group to an undisclosed location, which is said to be a luxury hotel near Kovalam on ECR.
