University honour for 4 Padma awardees

The event was organised as a tribute to Col. Dr Jeppiaar, founder-chancellor of Sathyabama University for his contribution towards the field of education and society. A host of educationalists, delegates and researchers from the fields of science, arts, culture, environmental, child and women right activists, artists, NGO’s, industrialists, academicians and students were part of the congress. 

The pro-chancellor of the university Mariazeena Johnson awarded the Col. Dr Jeppiaar excellence award and a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh to four eminent personalities. Padma Shri A Muruganantham for entrepreneurship, Padma Bhushan Dr Mallika Sarabhai for her contribution to arts and culture, Padma Shri Jadav Payeng for environment and Padma Shri Deepa Mallik for Sports received the awards.
