College students from the city and across the country converged at the Madras Christian Colleges to strut their talent in the annual cultural bonanza that was hosted by the college -- Deepwoods 2017.

After Cyclone Vardah devastated the greenery on the campus last December, the students electrified the atmosphere with their performances, bringing their own personal brand of style, flair and aptitude.
Dr Alexander Jesudasan, Principal, said, “Deepwoods reflects the culture of MCC besides being a unifying factor of diverse talents of intercollegiate students and a display of leadership qualities of MCCians year after year.”
Over 40 cultural events, multiple celebrity guest performances by Naresh Iyer, Masala Coffee, Anthony Dasan, Zephrtone, Dana Jasmine among others, were some of the highlights of Deepwoods. Actor Vijay Sethupathy was also part of the festivities and interacted with students on the final day. Loyola was crowned the overall winners and Women’s Christian College was declared the runners-up.
