German tourist gang-raped at Mahabs

The woman, who complained to the police on Sunday around 4 pm, said the three men forced her on to the sand and raped her, threatening to kill her if she did not cooperate.

Police said the woman aged 37 years and who had come to Mamallapuram four days ago and was staying at a private resort, had set out on her morning walk and when she reached Pattipulam, about six kilometres away from the beach, three locals approached her and forced themselves on her.

Police said Pattipulam is a deserted stretch and the victim's cries for help went unanswered. 

The three men threatened her with murder if she resisted and took turns to rape her.

"She told the police that she had been raped and the men had used condoms. We need to confirm rape after a medical examination," a senior police official attached to the Kancheepuram police said.

The Mamallapuram All-Woman Police have registered a case and further investigations are on.

Police interrogated the woman and took details regarding the appearance of the youth. Police suspect the accused to be local residents and have launched a hunt for them. Police said her valuables were not stolen.
