Highly placed sources said that the police heads have expressed their helplessness in preventing the possible arrest of TTV Dinakaran, if the Delhi Crime Branch press for his arrest.
“There is no way the state police could stop the Delhi Crime Branch from arresting Dinakaran, if they wish to do so. We must provide them assistance in keeping up the law and order when they execute the arrest. Dinakaran will have to deal with the case legally,” a senior police official said.
Intelligence officials are also working overtime to gather information regarding the undercurrents inside the two-party factions. Sources said the voice against the Sasikala faction is once again gathering momentum in the party and the Sasikala camp are trying their best to keep things under their control.
“Police officials are having a tough time as they are pulled in two directions,” another official said.
Sathyamurthy back as IG of Intelligence wing
The State government has re-appointed senior IPS officer KN Sathyamurthy as IG Intelligence, after keeping him under compulsory wait for the last two months. The post has been kept vacant since February 23, when the state government shifted out Davidson Devasirvatham, who was appointed as IG intelligence by O Panneerselvam’s caretaker government. Internal Security IG Easwaramoorthy had been given the additional charge of IG Intelligence following the transfer of Davidson.
