Rains to continue in districts for two days
The Regional Meteorological Centre in Chennai on Sunday said that the western and central regions of the state may experience moderate showers in the next two days.

An official of the Area Cyclone Warning Centre, Chennai, told DTNext, that some areas in Chennai would also receive mild showers.
According to RMC, southwest monsoon is active over Rayalaseema. Friday’s off shore trough running from south Maharashtra coast to Kerala coast persists. “A trough in westerlies runs from Bihar to coastal Karnataka extending from 3.1 to 4.5 km above mean sea level, while another trough at mean sea level runs from south coastal Andhra Pradesh to south Tamil Nadu coast,” a RMC bulletin stated.
K Srikanth, a weather blogger said, the trend of evening convective thunderstorms over parts of TN continued on Friday and Madurai, Sivaganga and Nagappattinam districts were enjoying good rainfall.” Madurai ISRO weather station recorded 63 mm of which 51 mm poured in a span of one hour, he added. “Nagappattinam and Thanjavur districts also received rains with Kumbakonam witnessing a thunderstorm dump and recording around 27 mm,” he added.
