Nori Kuwaokaemployed as director (Marketing and Business Development) at Sankar Sealing Systems Pvt Ltd in SIPCOT, was walking alone behind the complex when the gang, yet to be identified, cornered him with sharp weapons and threatened him to part with his phone. But when he reportedly refused, the gang dragged him to a bush nearby and attacked him causing severe injury on his left hand and escaped with the phone.
He is presently undergoing treatment at Saveetha Medical College Hospital in Kancheepuram. Since the crime had occurred at an isolated spot none were witness to the attack making the identification of the gang members difficult. Sriperumbudur police have registered a case and are on the lookout for the miscreants involved.
It may be noted that a German woman was raped in Mamallpuram in April last, which is yet to be detected by the police.
