The initiative will bring together acid and burns victims, medical experts and corporates. They will also be sensitized about treatments like micro vascular surgery, micro facial surgery and medical tattooing.
“People tend to look at our burns and our identity just becomes that. Our skills are overlooked most of the times,” says 27-year-old Farana, a post graduate in English Literature. She had accidentally fell fallen on acid bottle and suffered heavily when the liquid burns the skin area at her home in Kanpur in 2004. However, she managed to finish her education, but when it came to job interviews, she has only struggled.
Pragya Singh of the Atijeevan Foundation said, “HR solution companies have agreed to attend the camp to provide skill training. They will interact with the participants an also plan to hire those who are qualified.”
