The girl, Lipika, is the adopted daughter of Poyil Likka Sangma, who arrived in his dauther’s house in Thandalam two weeks ago.  Police said that Sangma’s daughter married a Chennai local, Dinesh Kumar, and settled down in the city.

On July 16, Lipika who was playing outside the house, suddenly went missing. After searching for her in the locality and elsewhere, Kumar filed a complaint at Sriperumpudur police station. Since the girl remains untraceable even after 10 days, police suspect that she could have been kidnapped.

Inspector Natarajan, who is investigating the matter, said that Kumar wanted to admit Lipika in a school here.
