An SRMC release here on Friday said J Senthamil Selvan, a 28-year-old entrepreneur, met with an accident while riding a motorbike on Avadi Road.

He was admitted to SRMC on July 22. Senthamil, who suffered injuries to his head, was diagnosed of Subarachnoid Hemorrhage. Despite treatment, he could not recover and was declared brain dead on July 25. A friend persuaded his parents to donate the vital parts of Senthamil.

The liver was transplanted into a 50-year-old man from Cuddalore. One of his kidneys was donated to a 43-year-old man from Arcot and another was sent to a hospital. His heart valves and cornea were retained by the SRMC for future needs.
