Highway horror; 3 die as car crashes into lorry
Three persons including a two-wheeler rider were killed as a car ran amok on Chennai-Bangalore Highway and rammed a two-wheeler and a lorry coming in the opposite direction on Monday night.

Among the deceased Senthil (35) and Balaji (38) were returning to Chennai after attending a funeral in Kancheepuram along with four other friends, R Iyakannu (34), K Boopathy (45), R Veliyappan (35) and B Raguram (30).
Around 7.30 pm, when they were passing by Pillai Chathiram on Chennai-Bengaluru Highway, the car suddenly lost control, broke the median and hit a two-wheeler rider, S Vinoth (30), coming in the opposite direction and before ramming a speeding lorry. The car was completely damaged in the collision in which Senthil and Balaji died on the spot.
The passers-by rushed to the rescue of the rest and sent them to nearby hospital in ambulances. However, Vinoth succumbed to injuries on the way and others are undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Chennai.
Police said that six men in the car were form different parts of the state and were working in a car manufacturing company in Sriperumpudur.
Senthil and Balaji, who hailed from Coimbatore, stayed in Porur in a rented house along with Veliyappan of Dharmapuri. Iyakannu is a resident of Sunguvarchatram while Boopathy is from Poonamallee. Kancheepuram Taluk police have registered a case and investigation is on.
