While the opposition DMK had filed a case against holding RK Nagar by-elections without deleting about 46,000 bogus votes in the constituency, the supporters of AIADMK presidium chairman E Madhusudhanan and sidelined AIADMK leader TTV Dinakaran are going from door to door to verifying the voter rolls in the constituency.
The rival group, headed by TTV Dinakaran, has adorned the walls of the constituency with posters greeting the people for Deepavali with their leader’s photographs. The ruling factions are enthusiastic and want to prove their supremacy in the by-poll with little regard for the DMK’s petition in the court.
Madhusudhanan’s loyalists’ act of being the early bird had raised several eye brows, since uncertainty surrounds his candidature. After the merger, the ruling party is yet to take a decision on its nominee for the by-poll.
However, Madhusudhanan’s supporters are certain that their leader would get the party ticket this time too.
