Driver escapes with Rs 28 lakh ATM money
The driver of a private monetary agency assigned to replenish cash in ATMs escaped with Rs 28 lakh from Chennai airport premises on Wednesday.

The incident took place around 8.30 pm at the arrival area of Chennai domestic airport. Two employees of the agency reached the airport with cash in the company’s vehicles to refill the cash at a Canara Bank ATM. When they went back to the vehicle , they couldn’t find the driver Udayakumar.
After waiting for a few minutes, they checked the vehicles and were shocked to see cash boxes missing. They immediately alerted the Airport police, who have been searching for the accused. Police said that Udayakumar hails from Thoothukudi district and recently joined the agency as driver.
