ATM cash heist: Driver arrested

Five days after a van driver of a private monetary agency, assigned to replenish cash in ATMs, vanished with Rs 28 lakh cash from Chennai airport, a special team has arrested the driver, Udhayakumar in Namakkal, police sources said.

The team is yet to recover the money from the suspect, sources added.  

Driver Udhayakumar escaped with Rs 28 lakh from the van on last Wednesday when the staff were loading money at an ATM in domestic terminal of the city airport. 
He had abandoned the vehicle in the service road under the flyover outside the airport before escaping with the cash.

3 held for stealing  milk packets 
Three men were arrested for allegedly stealing milk packets from at least three points in BV Colony, Vysarpadi early on Sunday to perform milk abhishekam on posters and banners erected to observe first death anniversary of their gang leader Palani. 
The arrested were identified as Kalaiselvan of Kodungaiyur, Sathish of Ponneri and Manikanan of Vyasarpadi. Police said Kalaiselvan and Sathish were facing at least one murder case each against all of them. Police probed the incident after a shop owner in BV Colony alerted them about the incident.
