The accused, Arumugam (44) of Sivagangai district and Shyam (42) of Pallavaram, were arrested based on a complaint by Natarajan (65) of Nungambakkam. Police said that Arumugam signed the fake General Power of Attorney created by the prime accused, identified as Ramesh, even as he was aware that it was illegal to do so.

Similarly, Shyam signed the fake sale deed as a witness for the same property measuring 3,520 sq ft worth Rs 80 lakh and located in Moulivakkam. The duo has been remanded in judicial custody, while a hunt has been launched for Ramesh, said CCB sources.
