When asked about reports that he had written a letter to Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam accusing Jayakumar of working against the party in the bypoll, the senior leader said it was an intra-party matter and he would not go against the party.
Although Madhusudhanan had lost the elections, he remains the party’s presidium chairman and the Election Commission of India had allocated ‘Two Leaves’ symbol to him and Panneerselvam.
Madhusudhanan said he was in the party right from its inception and he would not cause a blemish to the party. Pitching into the quarrel, RK Nagar legislator TTV Dinakaran recalled that he had already stated that Jayakumar himself would defeat Madhusudhanan. He also said both Palaniswami and Panneerselvam did not want Madhusudhanan to win, as he would demand a ministerial berth. “As the fight intensifies, more truths will come out,” he said.
