Deepa Jayakumar’s former car driver arrested for alleged assault
AV Raja, driver of former chief minister Jayalalithaa’s niece Deepa Jayakumar, was arrested by the West Mambalam police for allegedly assaulting a Tata ace driver on Tuesday.

Raja picked up quarrel with the driver as he banged his vehicle against Deepa’s car parked outside her house in T Nagar on Tuesday morning and assaulted him.
Based on a complaint from the Tata ace driver, West Mambalam police registered a case under IPC Sections 341, 323, 341, 294 (B), 384 against driver Raja and arrested him. The injured van driver has been admitted at the government hospital in the city.
The arrested Raja was remanded in judicial custody after being produced before a magistrate court in the city on Tuesday night.
