Flight operations to and from Chennai hit by fog

Flight operations were affected for nearly three hours at Chennai airport on Friday morning after visibility dipped due to fog. As many as 12 incoming flights, including four international flights, were diverted to Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Tiruchy and Coimbatore. The schedules of 22 incoming flights and 30 outbound flights were delayed for 30 minutes to three hours from 6 am to 8.30 am. Flights from Kuala Lumpur were diverted to Coimbatore and Tiruchy.

Flights from Kochi, Mumbai and Singapore were diverted to Bengaluru. Flights from Bengaluru and Pune were diverted to Hyderabad. Operations resumed at 8:30 am after the sky was clear.
