Meanwhile, fans of the Kollywood actor have put stalls in different parts of the city allegedly to enroll members to the outfit.
Residents in and around Mogappair were in for a surprise on Sunday when they noticed a makeshift stall with a banner of the superstar and his ‘mudra’ symbol between MMM Hospital and JJ Nagar bus depot for volunteers to enrol themselves. However, sources from the Rajini Makkal Mandram clarified to DT Next that they had no role in setting up such stalls.
“Rajini’s fans from different districts are doing this of their own accord. It is not under any instructions from Rajinikanth or others as per the party norms. We were alerted on the photographs of such stalls on Sunday morning from fans across Tamil Nadu. As of now, we cannot verify how many stalls are present or if there has been any enrolment,” said a source close to the actor.
Following announcement of entering politics and contesting in the coming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, the actor released a mobile app ‘RajiniMakkalMandram’ to mobilise his fans.
