Recently, at the national-level meeting, communist party leader Prakash Karat opposed party general secretary Sitharam Yechury’s suggestion that the party should ally with Congress in order to defeat BJP in the upcoming elections.
In such a backdrop, some social media miscreants created a fake Twitter account for CPM’s state secretary Ramakrishnan and posted that Prakash Karat’s stand was to support BJP, since he was a Brahmin. After it spread on social media, a few news channels too reported. Following this, Ramakrishnan issued a clarification saying it was a fake account. In his petition, he sought the arrest of the men who operated the fictitious account.
