Passing the order on a petition filed by N Ramachandran, a businessman and former office-bearer of a forum formed by Deepa, Justice M S Ramesh said a case be registered against her driver A V Raja also if cognisable offence was made out.
The petitioner, who was formerly Kancheepuram District Secretary of MGR Amma Deepa Peravai, alleged that Deepa and Raja had borrowed Rs 1.12 crore from him and refused to repay. They also allegedly threatened him when he demanded that the money be returned.
They collected the money by false inducement and promise that the person, who pays money, would be made the district secretary and very soon they would be made ministers, he claimed.
