The deceased P Rajesh, an electrician, is said to have been under the influence of alcohol and was returning home after attending a function at a friend’s house. As the civic body workers were digging the road, barricades had been erected on the road side. Rajesh who did not notice them crashed his two wheeler on them.
In the impact, he and the pillion rider Amjith (21) fell on the road. With severe injuries on the head and face, Rajesh was rushed to Stanley Government Hospital, but died without responding to treatment. Amjith, a third-year BCom student, escaped with minor injuries.
