The regular weekend crowd at Marina was taken aback after an unusual vehicle got off the sea and landed on the beach around 12.30 pm. Growing curious, the people began surrounding the hovercraft, as a few Coast Guard officers came out of it.
Caught unawares by the hovercraft and the commotion it set off, Marina police who were on patrol got into an argument with Coast Guard officers for bringing the vehicle on shore without any alert. The Coast Guard team explained that they had no other option but to bring the hovercraft to the beach because engine overheating led to a snag. The hovercraft left for Defence Expo around 1.30 pm after the glitch was set right.
