CoP rewards auto driver for nabbing snatchers

After reaching Chennai to visit her relative, S Mariamanonmani (36) from Tiruvannamalai was travelling from Purusawalkamon Suresh Kumar’s auto around 9 pm. As the vehicle was passing over TM Nair bridge, three men on a bike snatched her bag and sped away. 

However, the Suresh Kumar chased them in his auto and rammed their bike. When they lost balance and fell off the bike, he nabbed two of them with the help of public while the third person managed to escape. The duo – K Vijayakumar (21) of KK Nagar and M Vijay (20) of MGR Nagar – was handed over to Egmore police. Based on the information they provided, police also arrested the escaped associate, a juvenile. Vijayakumar and Vijay were remanded in judicial custody.
