The deceased was identified as R Thennavan of Nagapattinam, a automobile engineering graduate. He was attending civil service coaching classes in Chennai for the last two years. He and his girlfriend, a 22-year-old law student residing in Tiruvotriyur came in contact through Facebook two years back and fell in love last year.

On Thursday, she invited him for lunch saying that her parents were not at home.

Thennavan went to her house and after having a meal he suddenly developed a health problem and collapsed with foam coming out from his mouth. Although his girlfriend, with the help of relatives, took him to hospital, he was declared dead on arrival.

Thennavan’s family members have lodged a complaint with the police, stating that his death was suspicious.
