The movie directed by Santhosh P. Jayakumar and produced by KE Gnanavel Raja, stars actor Gautham Karthik.
It released on May 4 and has been running to full houses at various screens in the city.
Activist Apsara Reddy along with Chennai Dost, an organisation advocating for LGBTQI rights, have lodged a petition with the District Legal Services Authority Secretary Judge Jayanthi to summon the director of the movie.
A petition calling for the deletion of scenes that are discriminatory and inflammatory against disadvantaged communities has also been accepted by the Deputy Commissioner (IS) Vimala.
A meeting has also been scheduled for May 8 with actor Vishal, the head of the Producers’ Council, to discuss possible interventions to prevent the movie from causing setbacks to the fight for equality mounted by LGBTQI individuals.
