18 stolen bikes, car seized from gang of four

As many as 18 bikes and a hired car used by the gang were seized from Prasanth, Karthikeyan and two others named Dineshkumar. They live in and around Perambur and became friends while driving share autos.

While they drove share autos during the day, they decided to hire a car and travel at night to target expensive bikes parked on the roadside in Ayanavaram, Jamalia, Perambur and Kolathur. As these two-wheelers are parked without any safety precautions, they become easy targets. They steal and park it a little far from their residence so that their family would not notice the stolen bikes. The gang had sold only a few bikes and the rest were retrieved from them.

A week ago, the Anna Nagar police got a tip-off about the gang. A police team followed them and arrested the gang. All four were remanded in judicial custody.
